Teach Your Kids How to Fly A Drone!
And Get Them Prepared for the Jobs of the Future
‘YOU TAKE COMMAND’
a 5-Lesson Curriculum is Now Complete
Thanks to generous funding from InfySys Foundation USA, COSB is able to offer member schools and agencies downloadable lesson plans that give TVIs and Outreach Coordinators the instructional tools they need to host an extra-curricular day of hands-on fun focused on STEM! ‘
‘You Take Command’ is the first in a planned series of online modules being developed to give kids much-needed exposure to computer coding, makers space projects and electronic circuitry. The jobs of the future will demand our kids master technology skills. Now is the time to introduce your b/vi students to robotics and coding using Apple’s Accessible Swift Playground app through this fun easy to use tool.
To make planning seamless, COSB has created a step-by-step guide that takes you through your preparations for your own Exploration Day. The Guide lists resources you’ll need, how to plan for staffing, and preparing your students with any skills needed for a successful day.

This exciting new program was launched at COSB’s 2019 Leadership Institute, with the help of our key partner, Janette Barrios, Accessibility Marketing and Community Manager at Apple, and our amazing curriculum authors, Sue O’Brien, M.Ed., Braille Transcriber and Adapted Materials Coordinator and Training Specialist, Texas School for the Blind and Visually Impaired; and Belinda Rosas, Teacher of the Visually Impaired, Texas School for the Blind and Visually Impaired.
